William W. Meuser

William W. Meuser, 95, of Port St. Lucie, Florida passed away January 18, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.

William was born in Washington, DC on July 27, 1927 to Naomi and Edwin Meuser. The family moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1936. William graduated with the class of 1945 from Bexley High School. After graduation William served with the Army Corps of Engineer until 1946. After attending Ohio State University, William transferred to the University of Florida and graduated in 1950.

After graduation, William served as an Agriculture Missionary to Papua New Guinea from 1950 to 1969. He married the love of his life Gloria Marple on June 6, 1953 while he was in Papua New Guinea. In 1969, after returning to the United States, William taught Vocational Agriculture at the Miami Agriculture School until 1990. During his time with the Miami Agriculture School, he served as the Livestock Director of the Dade County Youth Fair from 1982 to 1986.

A devout man of God, William was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in North Miam from 1949 to 1991 and after retiring from the Miami Agriculture School, William and family moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida and he became a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church.

William will be dearly missed by his family including; daughters, Deborah Parke of Florida, Jennifer Norman of North Carolina, Yvonne Meuser -Kelleher of North Carolina, Lisa Meuser of Florida; son, Robert Meuser of North Carolina; beloved grandchildren, Lacinda Melanson, Greg Norman, Brad Norman, Nicole Parke, Ashley Parke, Sherlyn Parke, Toni Meuser, and Annrita Velardi, great-grandchildren, Ava Melanson, Adalynn Melanson, Wesley Norman, Andrew Norman, Daniel Lopez, Aiden Abueshtaye, Chance Brewer, Isabella Velardi, Gavyn Velardi, London Velardi, and Dominic Velardi. He was predeceased by his beautiful wife, Gloria Lucille Meuser; brother, David Meuser; sister, Janet Piepgras; father, Edwin and mother, Naomi Meuser.

A memorial service will be held at St Andrew Lutheran Church on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 2PM. Inurnment will take place on Monday, February 13, 2023 at 1PM at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida.
