William B. Bullus, III

December 12, 1948 — June 10, 2026

Daytona Beach, Florida

Bill Bullus, 77, passed away on June 10, 2026 at the Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Born in Warren, Ohio on December 12, 1948. Bill grew up in Fort Pierce, Florida where he built lasting roots and lifelong friendships through fellowship at the First United Methodist Church and employment at the Florida Farm Supply Headquarters where he was mentored by Warren Clausen and Sandy Gibson.

Bill graduated from Dan McCarty High School in 1967. He continued his education at Indian River Community College before attending the University of Florida (Go Gators!) where he was a proud member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business degree in 1971.

In 1972, Bill began a distinguished 30-year career as an Allstate Insurance Agent. He started as a sales agent in the Sears store in Daytona Beach, both on Beach Street and the Volusia Mall. He went on to own his agency in Ormond Beach, Florida where he resided for fifty years. Over the decades, his hard work and commitment earned him numerous professional awards before his well-deserved retirement in 2002.

An avid outdoorsman throughout his life, Bill was content when he was out on the water with his dad and friends casting a line or spending quiet mornings in his tree stand. He was never happier than being in the woods in Hampton County, South Carolina, waiting for that “big buck” to show himself. Hunting and fishing were his true passions, connecting him to nature and bringing him great joy throughout most of his life.

Bill leaves behind a large, loving family who will miss his presence dearly. He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 38 years, Sarah Harford Bullus. He was a proud stepfather to Rob Bailey and his wife Michelle of Gainesville, FL, and Matthew Bailey and his wife Jamie of Port Orange, FL. He was a cherished Papa Bill to Leah, Lily, Jackson, and Alex Bailey. He is also survived by his sister and best friend, Beth Childs, and her husband Roy, who was like a brother to him. Uncle Bill’s memory will live on through his nieces and nephews, Becky Childs (Amy Caison), Eric Childs (Carrie), and Amy Johnson (Cameron), as well as his adored great-nieces and great-nephews: Cole, Wyatt, Meghan, Charlotte, Sawyer, Henry, Wesley, Carter, and Jace.

Bill is further survived by his sister-in-law, Nancy Arnott of Chester, VA; his special aunt, Belva Shoff of Melbourne, FL; his uncle, Jim Bronson of Kinsman, OH and many extended cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William B. Bullus, Jr. and Evelyn Bronson Bullus.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bill’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Smile Train.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 18, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Haisley Funeral Home, 3015 Okeechobee Road, Fort Pierce, FL. His ashes will be interred at the White City Cemetery immediately following the service. Rest easy honey, you are loved.
