Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Wilfrid Alexander Lazarre

Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of Wilfrid Alexander Lazarre, affectionately known as Alex or Will. His was a life defined by service, compassion, dedication, and, above all, love.

Will proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Gulf War. Following his military service, he continued his commitment to helping others as a dedicated mental health counselor, specializing in working with children and individuals struggling with addiction. Through his compassion, tireless efforts, and genuine desire to make a difference, he touched countless lives and helped bring families together.

Family was at the heart of Will's life. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. His love and dedication were especially evident in the care he provided for his mother, Ormie, serving as her full-time caregiver in recent years. He was a proud and loving father to his four children, Mosi, Tahirah, Uniti, and Sidira, and a loving stepfather to Kiana and Darius. He also shared his life and love with his wife, Keri.

Will embraced life with joy and enthusiasm. He loved the beach, the beauty of nature, and spending time with those closest to him. But music and dancing held a particularly special place in his heart. As a teenager in New York, he was part of a dance group before joining the military, and his passion for music remained with him throughout his life. Music was woven into the very fabric of his being. He often awoke with a song in his heart, ready to greet each new day with its rhythm and melody.

He found happiness in life's simple pleasures: the soothing sound of rain, the vastness of the ocean, the scent of freshly cut grass, and the companionship of his beloved pets, Jade, Canilla, and Benny. He also had a deep fascination with ancient Egyptian history. These passions reflected his curious spirit, his appreciation for the natural world, and his unique way of experiencing life's beauty.

Will leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, service, and cherished memories. He is survived by his beloved wife, Keri; his mother, Ormie; his father, Wilfrid; his children and stepchildren; his siblings Elijah, Frantz, Danie, Clyvens; and many family members and friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

Though he will be deeply missed, the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the music that filled his heart will live on in all who knew and loved him.
