Washington Perry Waters was a loving and giving man of faith. He loved his family and friends and gave unconditionally to all who needed it. He took the time to get to know everyone who crossed his path and always had a genuine smile on his face. He was always willing to lend his time to better others.
Washington was named after his grandfather, who died in the Civil War, but he chose to go by the nickname WP. He was born in Jennings, FL, to Doyal and Myrta Waters. In 1951, he married his high school sweetheart, Jeanette McCall, and they shared 74 wonderful years of marriage until her passing. They had four children and also helped raise a niece whom they considered their own daughter. He was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather to many, all of whom he cherished deeply.
WP was an electrician who eventually started his own electrical business in 1973, which is still in operation today. He had a successful career and was well-liked and respected by everyone he worked with.
WP retired in his 50s, spent time traveling, and later fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning a farm in the mountains of Virginia. He often joked that farming was a hobby, as he said he never made any money at it. Later in life, he moved back to Fort Pierce, FL, where he lived the remainder of his life.
WP was never one for extravagant items, so in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the church of your choice or passing on an act of kindness in his name.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 11:30 AM at Winter Beach Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Vero Beach, FL 32967.
