Vincent Arthur Lloyd passed away August 11, 2026, at Treasure Coast Hospice. Vincent was born July 28, 1947, to Thomas and Mary Lloyd in Long Branch, New Jersey. After graduating from Rutgers Law School, Vincent traded the cold winters of New Jersey for the warmth of Florida. Vincent and his then wife, Susan, packed their belongings and two infant sons into a beat-up Volkswagen and headed South for one wild ride. Vincent interviewed for an attorney position with Holland and Knight in Central Florida but was instead lured to the unknown and undiscovered town of Fort Pierce. It only took one visit to Fort Pierce to convince Vincent he should decline the job offer with Holland and Knight, throw caution to the wind and open his own law practice. Vincent had always been a risk taker, and this was by far his riskiest move. The move paid off. Vincent quickly befriended local native and attorney, Edgar “Al” Brown and the two opened the Law Firm of Lloyd & Brown in the early seventies. Lloyd & Brown would eventually morph into Lloyd, Hoskins & Pierce and became one of the largest law firms on the Treasure Coast. Vincent was widely recognized as the “King of Workers’ Comp.” Vincent loved a good battle: whether it was fighting insurance companies, ex-wives, addiction, or cancer, Vincent fought the fight and he fought to win. After growing his law practice into a powerhouse firm, Vincent set his sights on growing his family. Vincent and his new wife Glenda suddenly had six children under the age of six, in addition to the four children Vincent shared with first wife Susan. To Vincent, his new large family gave him the ultimate bragging rights. Never one to sit idle, Vincent had the ambition of becoming a true entrepreneur. Vincent was often credited with sparking the revitalization of Ft. Pierce by renovating the Fort Pierce Hotel Building and countless others in the downtown area. Over the years, Vincent owned The Original Tiki Bar and Restaurant; Gopherbroke Groves; Lloyd’s Travel; Val-u-Vend; and the Treasure Coast Antique Mall to name a few. When not tending to his many irons in the fire, Vincent would flee to Grand Cayman where he owned not one, but two homes just to ensure there would always be enough room for friends and family. Vincent was a voracious reader and collector of art, amassing a large collection of Dylan Thomas books and Beanie Backus paintings. Vincent loved to travel and was known to take month-long safaris to Africa. Late in life, Vincent moved to Italy where he took up painting and learning to speak Italian, while spending quality time with his daughter Caiti. One of Vincent’s proudest moments was having his paintings in the display window at the renowned Fendi store in Rome. Vincent experienced many chapters in life and always spread love and smiles to all he encountered; self-pity was never an option.

Vincent is survived by his brother, William Lloyd (Mary); sister, Sr. Mary Elizabeth Lloyd; sister-in-law Kathy Lloyd; former wives, Susan Slingluff (Michael) and Glenda Belcher; his children, Christian Lloyd (Lisa); Colin Lloyd (Sara); Ian Lloyd (Cecilia); Caitrin Lloyd Rufino (John); Chloe Lloyd; Natalie Khoury (Faris); Nadine Brown (Wes); Dylan Lloyd; and Blythe Hawkins (Dusty); and 15 grandchildren whom he adored. He is predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Mary Lloyd; his stepmother, Ann Lloyd; his brother, Thomas Lloyd; and his son Aidan Lloyd. The family is eternally grateful for Vincent’s caretaker, Lois Steckel, who allowed Vincent to live independently with dignity until his death.

A celebration of life will take place on August 20, 2026 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Cobb’s Landing in Fort Pierce. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.
