Tommy M. York
Tommy M. York, 77, of Fort Pierce, FL passed away January 31, 2024. Pastor York was born November 29, 1946 in Oneonta, Alabama to Marvin and Mattie (Alexander) York.
Before following his calling to become a pastor, Tommy served his country in the United States Air Force. He relocated from Big Springs, TX to Ft Pierce and founded the Sunrise Tabernacle Church, where he led the congregation for 37 years. Prior to becoming a Pastor, he owned and operated York Lawnmower of Fort Pierce, FL.
Pastor York was a loving husband to Caroline “Cookie” York for 56 years. Together they raised 2 daughters and a son in Ft. Pierce. Pastor York leaves behind a legacy of love for his family, congregation, country, and the community. He will be forever remembered for his great love for the Lord.
He will be forever remembered by his beloved Cookie; daughters, Loretta York and Crystal (Tracy) York-Morgan and son, Tommy J York, all of Ft. Pierce. He will be missed by his sister, Mary Jo Walden of Port St. Lucie. He was beloved to his grandchildren, Rosa Ramos, Adrianna York, Joseph Morgan, Tommy J. York, Jr, Abigal York, Jeremiah Morgan, Malachi Morgan, and Alexandria Thomason. The memory of his love will also live on through his great-grandchildren, Joseph Morgan Jr, Isabella Laguerre, Chase Freesmeier, Emilio Diaz and Amara York. He joins in heaven, Jacob York and Tracy Morgan Jr.
A visitation will be held at Sunrise Tabernacle Church on Monday February 5th, 2024 from 12PM to 1PM with a service to begin at 1PM with burial to follow at White City Cemetery.
