Thomas “Teo” E. O’Connor Jr., a lifelong resident of Fort Pierce, Florida, passed away on February 19, 2026, at the age of 62. He was born on November 9, 1963.
Teo was married for 10 wonderful years to his loving wife, Jenifer M. O’Connor. He was a devoted husband, stepfather, and grandfather who took great pride in caring for his family.
He is survived by his stepchildren, Jessica Pena (Anthony), and Zackary Fuson (Kaitlin); his two grandsons, Levi Fuson (4) and Thomas Pena (2), who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his two sisters, Scarlette Merfeld (Bryan) and Samantha Warren (Mark), along with his nieces and nephew, whom he loved dearly. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his mother, Barbara “Bobby” Moneroe McClellan in 2017, and his younger brother, William “Packy” O’Connor in 2020.
Teo attended Fort Pierce Westwood High School before enlisting in the National Guard, where he proudly served for 6 years. He retired 36 years from the St Lucie County Parks & Rec as a Superintendent, contributing to his community in meaningful ways.
Teo enjoyed the simple things in life — taking care of his family, hanging by the pool and long walks anywhere there was water nearby. He was happiest with fried shrimp and a cold Budweiser, watching NASCAR, and cheering on his beloved Raiders. He especially cherished traveling with his wife, Jenifer, to visit their children and grandsons.
Teo dedicated his time to volunteering with Angels of Hope, generously giving back to his community. Through his service, he found a new calling to support those in need, especially those experiencing homelessness.
Teo will be remembered for his love of family, his loyalty and the quiet joy he found in life’s simple pleasures. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
