Shirley A. “Midge” Hood, 86, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Midge was born in Pocahontas, Virginia, to William “Bill” Brown and Myrtle Marie Brown.
A devoted Jehovah’s Witness, Midge’s faith was an important part of who she was.
Midge is survived by her stepdaughter, Sherry (Eddie) Shroder of Fort Pierce, Florida; her stepson, Glen Hood of Fort Pierce, Florida; several step-granddaughters, great-granddaughters, and a great-great-granddaughter. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and great-nephews who will continue to honor her memory.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hood, parents, William “Bill” Brown and Myrtle Marie Brown; her sisters, Mertle Sampson and Joyce “T” Murphy; and her brothers, Billy Brown, Cecil Brown, Frank Brown, and Joseph Brown.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026 from 1:00-3:00 PM at Haisley Reception Center.
