Sara Gonzalez, 82, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, in Fort Pierce, Florida, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on September 15, 1943, in Havana, Sara lived a life centered on family, resilience, and joy.
In 1976, Sara made Florida her home, where she built a beautiful life alongside her beloved husband, Jose Enrique Gonzalez. Together, they shared 63 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, devotion, and countless memories.
Sara worked as a leather seamstress for Coach, the purse manufacturer in Miami, Florida, where her talent, patience, and creativity touched many lives. Outside of her work, she found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed following politics, trying her luck at the casino, watching television, shopping, dancing, and most of all, spending cherished time with her family.
She is lovingly survived by her son, David Gonzalez (Corina); her grandchildren, Samary Tenor (Kevin) and Sebastian Gonzalez; her treasured great-grandchild, Kaiden Tenor; and her sister, Sara Sylvia Lastra.
Sara was preceded in death by her father, Pedro Lastra; her mother, Sara Lastra; her devoted husband, Jose Enrique Gonzalez; her brother, Pedro Lastra; and her son, Jose Enrique Gonzalez, Jr.
Sara will be remembered for her strength, vibrant spirit, love for her family, and the warmth she brought into the lives of everyone who knew her. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved so deeply.
A Visitation will be held on May 29, 2026, at Haisley Tribute Center, 2041 Southwest Bayshore Blvd., Port St. Lucie, Florida 34984, at 4:00 pm with a Service to follow at 6:00 pm.
