Sandra Marie Brangan, a lifelong resident of Florida, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, in Vero Beach, Florida, at the age of 87.
Born on July 4, 1938, in Fort Pierce, Florida, Sandra lived a full and vibrant life rooted in family, faith, and the beauty of the place she always called home. She deeply loved Florida—especially “Old Florida”—and carried with her a rich appreciation for its history, traditions, and natural charm. A true wealth of knowledge, she cherished sharing stories of what it was like growing up, keeping memories of the past alive for all who listened. She also found great joy in the water, where she felt most at peace.
Sandra was a woman of remarkable strength and resilience, known for her ability to “figure it out” no matter the circumstance. Frugal by nature and resourceful at heart, she carried herself with quiet determination and unwavering independence.
She had a deep love for homemaking and creativity, finding joy in sewing, knitting, cooking, and tending to her garden—where she delighted in growing beautiful flowers and, in her own words, “picking weeds.” These everyday passions reflected her nurturing spirit and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.
Family was the center of Sandra’s world. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Ashton of Vero Beach; her son, Ronald Brangan of Raiford, Florida; her brother, Robert (Donna) Lybrand of Vero Beach; her cherished grandchildren, Kenneth Brangan, Jenna (George) Henriquez, Donnie Brangan, and Blayre Ashton; and her adored great-grandchildren, Corey, Brooke, Isaiah, Dalton, Lucas, Iyla Grace, and Rennick Cove.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Brangan; her brother, George Morris Lybrand; and her grandson, Corey Brangan.
Sandra had a gift for connection—she never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. A true social butterfly, she made friends wherever she went. She was known for her honesty and straightforward nature. Beneath that candid exterior was a deeply caring woman who loved fiercely and stood by those she held dear.
She was a faithful member of Seaside Bible Church of Vero Beach, where she found community and spiritual strength.
Sandra’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and authenticity. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the lives she touched and the family she cherished.
