Sally Ann Embree

Sally Ann Howe Embree, 84, passed away July 12, 2022, in Fort Pierce, FL.

Sally was born to Clare and Buddy Howe in Carbondale, PA. She moved to West Islip, NY after college and then made her way to Stuart, FL for over 40 years before relocating to Fort Pierce, FL 4 years ago.

She attended St. Rose Nursing School of Carbondale, PA. Her first job in nursing was in Hell’s Kitchen in New York City. Sally then went on to teach nursing at Boces on Long Island for 15 years and worked as a nurse for the VNA and for Treasure Coast Hospice prior to retiring. When she was able, Sally attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Stuart, FL. Sally loved to travel. She was very proud that she traveled to all 50 states, just having visited her 50th, New Mexico, in December. Sally also had a love for music.

Survivors include her daughters, Lisa Heidebrecht, of West Virginia, and Donna Embree Newell, of Long Island, New York; son, David Embree (Lisa), of Fort Pierce, Florida; grandchildren, Clifford Heidebrecht, Ryan Newell, Kiley Newell, Addison Newell, Kalin Newell, Nicole Richey (Blake), Jaden Embree, Sara Embree, and Allison Embree; brothers, Bill Mang, Donald Howanitz (Adrienne), and Jack Howanitz (Laurel) and sister, Mary Seman (Paul). She was preceded in death by her son, John F. Bachota; sister, Donna Mang; brother, Peter Howanitz and husband, Norman James Embree.
