Nov 1, 1942 — Jul 11, 2026

Port St. Lucie

Ruby E. Stampp, age 83, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, in Port St. Lucie, Florida. She was born on November 1, 1942, in Port Antonio, Jamaica.

On July 18, 1968, Ruby married the love of her life, Vernal C. Stampp. Together they shared 58 years of love, devotion, and cherished memories.

Ruby went to Titchfield School for infant and primary school. Ruby then went on to further her education at White’s Commercial College, where she studied bookkeeping, typing, and shorthand, all the qualities of a great secretary and administrative assistant. She then went on to work as the secretary at Titchfield High School in Jamaica for over 20 years and later worked at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital in New York City. Throughout her career, she was a proud member of the 1199 SEIU Union. She was also a devoted member of Holy Faith Episcopal Church and remained connected to her roots through the Titchfield High School Alumni Association.

Ruby will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her strength, and the love she shared with her family and friends. She found great joy in growing African violets, a hobby that reflected her patience, care, and appreciation for the beauty of God's creation.

She is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Vernal C. Stampp of Port St. Lucie, Florida; her children, Cara, Cindy, Carol, Christopher, Danny; her sister, Corrine; her brother, Oscar in London, United Kingdom; Harold in Jamaica; her niece, Patty; her nephew, Calvin; and her beloved grandchildren, Idriss, Emil, Raven, and Tyler.

Ruby was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert and James; her niece, Sophie; and her nephew, Kenneth.

Ruby's kindness, faith, resilience, and unwavering love for her family will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will continue to live on through the lives she touched and the legacy of love she leaves behind.

May she rest in eternal peace.
