Robert Allen Koch

December 6, 1967 — July 18, 2025

Palm Beach Gardens, Florida

Robert Allen “Bob” Koch, age 57, passed away on July 18, 2025, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Born on December 6, 1967, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Bob was the son of the late Lawrance J. Koch and Jane Ann Koch. He is survived by his sister, Cheryl Koch, his stepbrothers, Greg Deardorf and Dave Deardorf, and his stepmother, Bernadette “Jane” Koch. He was also preceded in death by his loyal dog, Blue, to whom he often said with a grin, “You’re my boy, Blue!”

Bob was a 1986 graduate of DeKalb High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Social Studies from Ball State University in 1993, followed by a Master of Science in Information and Communication Sciences in 1995. During his time at Ball State, he made countless lifelong friendships and was a proud member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.

A lover of live music, Bob found joy in his annual camping trip to Attica, Indiana, a tradition he kept for over 30 years. It was there he debuted his one-hit-wonder parodies, including “Joe’s Love” and “We Love D-Bar”—instant classics among friends. He loved a good game of cards and had an uncanny knack for winning. Whether you met him once or knew him for years, chances are he left you with a story, a laugh, or a sense that you mattered. His warmth, sharp mind, and quick wit made a lasting impression on everyone he met.

The family is making plans to celebrate Bob’s life and will share details at a later date. In honor of his love for animals, donations in Bob’s name can be made to Misty Eyes Animal Shelter in Avon, Indiana.
