 Regina “Jeanie” L. Lattner of Fort Pierce died of age-inflicted ailments on January 26, 2024.   She was 90 years old and lived in Tallahassee Florida with her Son and Daughter-in-law.  Mrs. Lattner was the 5th oldest child of Vincent and Lillian Guettler.   She had seven sisters and five brothers.   She was born on July 21, 1933, at home in Fort Pierce, FL.  She graduated from St. Anastasia Catholic School in 1951.  

Jeanie worked at St. Lucie County Bank for 17 years, from 1952 to 1969.  She started in the bookkeeping department and eventually worked her way up to Head Teller and responsible for the bank vault.  She married Richard “Dick” D. Lattner in 1964 and quit her job at the bank in 1969 to become a full time Mom when they adopted their son, Bill Lattner.  She and Dick enjoyed traveling including many trips to the Caribbean, Ireland, where they kissed the Blarney Stone, Hawaii, Canada, Portugal, and Italy, where they were able to see the Pope when they visited the Vatican City.  

Once her boys were older and in high school, Jeanie worked part time for Dick at his air conditioning business.  She also worked for St. Anastasia Catholic School part time in the fund-raising department where she helped raise many funds in support of Catholic education.   Jeanie was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic church for 90 years, where she served as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist and Choir member.

Survivors include her son Tim Lattner, daughter-in-law Alisa Beth Lattner of Tallahassee, FL; grandson Ryan Lattner of Tampa, FL; grandson Tyler Lattner of Orlando, FL; sister Pat Shaughnessy of British Columbia; Sister Dolores “Tootsie” Fortnash, brother-in-law Johnny Fortnash of Bushnell FL; brother Bernie Guettler of Rutherford, North Carolina; sister Teresa Mock of Fort Pierce, FL; sister Margaret Wiencek and brother-in-law Bruno Wiencek of Bushnell, FL; sister Kathleen Coney of Tallahassee, FL; brother Karl Guettler of Fort Pierce, FL

Any donations as a memorial for Jeanie can be made to St. Anastasia Catholic School.

The funeral service will be at St. Anastasia Catholic Church on February 17, 2024 at 10:30 am with the internment at White City Cemetery immediately following.  There will also be a celebration of Jeanie's life at her home that evening.  All family and friends are invited to attend, starting at 5 pm until the bonfire goes out.   Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.  An online guest book may be signed at www.haisleyfuneralhome.com
