Ralph W. Green

Ralph W. Green lived his life with strength, grit and heart. He was born on October 23, 1942, in Washington, District of Columbia. At twenty-one he married the love of his life, Carla Scott, in Miami. Their marriage became a steady anchor that carried them through sixty-one years of shared work, family and faith.

Ralph passed away on October 26, 2025, in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. His loss is felt deeply by his wife Carla, his daughter Debbie, and the many relatives and friends who admired him.

He leaves behind his loving wife Carla Green of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; his daughter Debbie Green of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; his brothers in law Richard Scott of Wellington, Florida and Mark Scott of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; his nephews Rick Scott of Wellington, Florida and Bradley Scott of Vero Beach, Florida; and his niece Lisa Alford of Nashville, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his mother Mae Henshaw, his father Jesse Green, his half-brother Mason Sheehan and his grandfather Ralph N. Henshaw.

Ralph worked hard his entire life. He spent many years in construction before launching his own landscaping business, a venture he took pride in until he retired. He was a man who liked to build, fix and shape the world around him with his hands. His faith grounded him. He attended Christ Fellowship Church in West Palm Beach, Florida, for many years and carried those teachings with him in the way he treated people.

He loved simple, honest pleasures. He spent hours tinkering in his garage, often with a project in pieces and a grin on his face. He took great joy in feeding the birds that visited him daily. He loved hunting turkey and deer and valued the fellowship of his hunting buddies as much as the hunt itself. Sundays were for the Kansas City Chiefs, and a win made his week a little brighter.

Ralph had a sharp wit and a gift for timing. He was an extreme note taker, always scribbling details, ideas or reminders. He always had a comeback and a line that made people laugh. Friends and family knew that time with him came with stories, humor and warmth.

He faced his illness with courage and clear eyes. He understood his time was nearing its end and met it without losing the spirit that defined him.

The family asks that any gifts or donations be made to Treasure Coast Hospice (Dove Team) in Stuart, Florida or to Calvary Community Church in Jensen Beach, Florida. A memorial service will be held later at Calvary Community Church.

Ralph will be missed more than words can capture, especially by his devoted wife of 61 years, Carla. His love, humor, quick wit and steady presence will stay with all who knew him.
