Priscilla Ann Melton, 81, died September 26, 2026 in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Mrs. Melton was born on August 4, 1945 to Clay & Mary Hamilton in Cordova, North Carolina. She made Florida her home in 1978.

Our mom was such a trooper these past several months, but her body couldn’t handle it anymore. She loved God, life, and her family so very much. She would text us all a prayer every morning to make sure we all had a great day.

She closed her eyes on a full Harvest moon which symbolizes wholeness and the peak or end of a phase… it’s said the moon offers clarity and guidance offering comfort for a soul moving through a transition. The Harvest moon is tied to the fruits of our labor and reaping what we have sown and spiritually that a loved one has completed their life’s work and gathered their wisdom.

Priscilla was a cosmetologist who enjoyed quilting, fishing, cooking, and mostly spending time with her family. She was an amazing mentor to many.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Melton; daughters, Lavena Hickman, Peggy (Edward) O’Connell, and Leilonne Winterbottom; brothers, Frank (Diane) Hamilton and Johnny (Charity) Hamilton; step-children, Ricky (Dawn) Melton, Cynthia (Chuck) Wagner, Timothy Melton, Dwayne Melton; grandchildren, Ryan (Lacey) Winterbottom, Maegan Winterbottom, David (Sierra) O’Connell, Kevin O’Connell; great-grandchildren, Kaiylie, Talan, Briston, Laila, Kendall, and Oakley; great-great-grandchild, Jonathan; and countless nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clay & Rev. Mary Hamilton, sons-in-law, Ronnie Hickman and Robert Winterbottom, and siblings, Louise, William, Nelson, and Ricky.

Our mom did all of that and now she is resting in the promised land with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Rest in heaven momma. We love you and miss you already.
