Obituary

Peter William Ditta, 84, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026, in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Born in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, Peter later made Fort Pierce his home in 1994. A graduate of Monessen High School, he was a devoted man of faith and an active member of Midway Road Baptist Church in Fort Pierce and First United Methodist Church in Port St. Lucie.

Peter was known for his generous heart, remarkable handyman skills, and willingness to help others. He found great joy in repairing bicycles and giving them to children in need, bringing countless smiles to young faces throughout the community. His kindness, selflessness, and quiet acts of service will be remembered by all who knew him.

Peter is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Peirce Ditta; his daughters, Shannon L. Ditta and Sybil E. Starry; his stepson, Shawn Holerger; his sisters, Karen Cava and Anita Castiglia; his granddaughter, Magdalene M. Walk; and his grandson, Christian R. Barber, and his granddaughter Annalyn E. Barber.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Ditta; his mother, Margaret Marsden Ditta; and his sister, Antoinette "Toni" Ditta.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Haisley Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at White City Cemetery.

Peter's legacy of compassion, faith, and service to others will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
