Paul M. Sorli, 88, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025, in Fort Pierce, Florida. He was born on February 7, 1937, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Gordon and Susan Sorli.
Paul proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he and his future wife, Mary Jane, both served with dedication. It was during this time that their love story began — one that would grow into a lifelong partnership filled with devotion, hard work, and adventure. Before moving to Florida in 1979, Paul and Mary Jane owned and operated the Rug Mill Inn Restaurant and Bar, where they built lasting friendships and memories within their community.
After relocating to Florida, Paul owned and operated Sorli Trucking for 30 years. He loved life on the road and took great pride in his work. Outside of his career, Paul found joy in horse racing, days spent by the ocean, and traveling to new places. He especially cherished time with his beloved dog, Bailey. Above all, Paul’s greatest love was his family, who brought him endless happiness and pride.
He is survived by his children, Debbie (Steven) Bordner of Fort Pierce, FL; Paul (Tina) Sorli of New Egypt, NJ; Ray (Gail) Sorli of Orlando, FL; Margaret Masters of Fort Pierce, FL; and Susan (Brian) Gillespie of Fort Pierce, FL; along with 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and his faithful furry companion, Bailey.
Paul was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Jane Sorli.
His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends who loved him dearly.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Treasure Coast Hospice or Wounded Warrior Project.
