Mrs. Slaughter was born in Arcadia, Florida and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1952 coming from Frost Proof, Florida.She managed a convenient store.Survivors include her sister, Marian Jordan of Lyons, GA; brothers, Richard and Nick Steele both of Ft. Pierce, FL, and Thomas Steele of Okeechobee, FL; she was preceded in death by her brother, John Steele, Jr., and parents, John and Ida Steele.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Treasure Coast, 805 Virginia Ave., Ste. 1, Ft. Pierce, FL 34982.
