Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mulchan Sahadeo Gopie, who departed this life on August 3, 2026, at the age of 96.
Mulchan was born on February 23, 1930, in Endeavour, Chaguanas, Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies. At the age of 19, he married the love of his life, Mavis Ramnarine, in May of 1949, beginning a devoted marriage that was centered on faith, family, and love.
Mulchan believed in giving back to others and quietly made a lasting impact on the community through his generosity. He contributed to various Hindu temples throughout St. Lucie County, supporting their growth and helping preserve traditions for future generations. His kindness extended far beyond his donations—he was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, or welcome others with genuine warmth and compassion.
He found great joy in life's simple blessings. He had a remarkable talent for nurturing plants, taking pride in every garden he cared for. More importantly, he nurtured the relationships around him, always making family, friends, and even strangers feel welcomed. His warm smile, kind spirit, and generous heart were gifts that touched countless lives. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing a conversation, or welcoming someone into his home, Mulchan made everyone feel like family.
He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory, including his five sons; his daughter; 14 cherished grandchildren; and 11 beloved great-grandchildren. His legacy of kindness, generosity, and unconditional love will continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Though he will be deeply missed, Mulchan's welcoming smile, compassionate heart, and lifelong dedication to his family and community will remain an enduring source of comfort and inspiration for all whose lives he touched.
A visitation to celebrate Mulchan's life will be held at Haisley Funeral Home in Fort Pierce on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM. An online guest book may be signed at www.haisleyfuneralhome.com
