Michael Charles Krietzky

August 8, 1952 — October 23, 2025

Port St. Lucie

Michael Charles Krietzky was born on August 8,1952 in Tampa, Florida at the MacDill Air Force Base to the late Charles and Geneva “Kitty” (Rawls) Krietzky. Mike grew up in Hamtramck and Beverley Hills, MI before his family moved to Munising in 1969 to help their grandfather run the Superior Health Haven. He married Mari Elizabeth LeVeque June 2,1973 and he peacefully and lovingly passed into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ on October 23, 2025.

Michael is survived by his daughters Brooke (Rusty) Varn and Starr (Charlie) Rasmussen; His grandchildren, Starr (Kenny) Sparks Heyrman, Storm Sparks, Sage Sparks, Brooklynn Joyner, Kristin Joyner, his great grandchildren, Skyelan Heyrman, Kenneth Heyrman IV, and Lochlan Heyrman, and his sister Suzanne “Sue” (Krietzky) Minkin.

Michael was predeceased by his father Charles Michael Krietzky, his mother Geneva Katherine (Rawls) Krietzky, And his brothers, Donald Krietzky, Theodore Krietzky, and David Krietzky.

Michael graduated from William G Mather high school in Munising, Michigan. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ to come and be Lord of his life on January 20, 1970 and he started dating Mari LeVeque on January 30, 1970. Shortly thereafter, under Pastor Reed he went forward at the altar call and to the song “ I Surrender All”, for a call on his life to serve the Lord as a pastor.

Michael went to Grand Rapids Baptist Bible College and pastored at St. Ignace Baptist Church for two years and was an assistant pastor (before and after serving at St Ignace) at Munising Baptist Church. He went on to become the Munising Baptist School principal and then when we transitioned to Fort Pierce, Florida, he served as the music minister at Bible Baptist Church. He also taught multiple Sunday school classes over his lifetime, including long time serving at Westside Baptist Church here in Fort Pierce, FL in the music ministry, choir, and worship teams faithfully for many years, till he stepped down just in this last year 2024.

While serving at the church, Michael also had a heart for widows and the elderly who could not get to church on their own or get their groceries. He made sure that they were at church faithfully, Sunday after Sunday, taking them to the grocery store to get their food, and just making sure they had a ride to wherever they needed to go.

No matter where Dad went, he always spoke of the Lord Jesus Christ and shared the gospel with as many as he could, even on boat docks. His heart was that others would know the rich blessings of the Lord Jesus Christ and have a hope of eternity, that they would have the same hope he had. One of his favorite verses was Proverbs 10:22 NASB, 22 It is the blessing of the Lord that makes rich, and He adds no sorrow to it. He put this verse on a business card and handed it out to anyone he could and shared the gospel with them.

Michael started with Bellsouth which became AT&T, where he retired.

He was a fun-loving man who loved God, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He spent as much time as possible with his family and made sure everyone had what they needed, always giving to those around him. He wanted to be at every event his family had. Every birth, birthday, graduation, and everything in between. He had a sense of humor and always had a smile that would light up the room. He was a light that shined the name of Jesus Christ to those he encountered. He gave from his heart to bless anyone he could.

Michael enjoyed good campfires with family, fishing, movies, motorcycles, guns, candle making, being on Lake Superior in the boat with his family, going out to dinner, and anything tech. He was gifted in voice, music, technology, and sharing the love of Jesus everywhere he went.

He was Dad (our loving Father), Papa Mike to his grandchildren and great grandchildren, son, brother, uncle, and "Mikey” to his little sister Sue.

We miss him very much and we mourn for him at this sudden loss but also rejoice as he is worshipping the Lord Jesus Christ. He has walked his life in the hope of glory, which is Christ in you, and has received his eternal life.

Only a day or so before he passed, he declared that he was keeping his eyes on Jesus and he has done that.

Hebrews 12:1-2 KJV Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
