Michael Lee “Mike” Biles, 70, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away on January 14, 2026, in Vero Beach. He was born on August 13, 1955, in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mike was united in marriage to the love of his life, Melanie Lynn Biles, on July 11, 1975, at Northside Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, Florida. Their marriage of more than 50 years was built on faith, devotion, and unwavering love.
He graduated in 1973 from Ross Sterling High School in Houston, Texas, and went on to earn his Master Electrician License, building a respected career in hospital engineering and facilities management. Mike became a member of the Florida Hospital Engineers Association in 1991. Throughout his career, he worked for HCA Florida Hospitals, Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and later for I.C. Thomasson Associates, Inc., an engineering firm based in Nashville, Tennessee, where he was employed from 2008 until 2025.
Mike was a man of faith and attended Calvary Chapel Vero Beach. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors and leisure pursuits, including golfing, shooting sporting clays, hunting, fishing, and relaxing with a good cigar.
He is survived by his loving wife, Melanie Lynn Biles of Vero Beach, Florida; his sons, Joshua Michael (Shannon) Biles and Jacob Lee (Alex) Biles; and his cherished grandchildren, Teagan Biles, Bailey Hatley, and Clayton Ryan. He is also survived by his mother, Carolyn Biles of Fort Pierce, Florida; his brother, James Edward Biles Jr. of North Carolina; and his sisters, Denise Fabiano and Kimberly Carpenter, both of Fort Pierce, Florida, and Valerie Lewis of Indiana.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Biles Sr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice House of Vero Beach, Florida, in honor of Mike’s life and legacy.
