Melissa Francine “Missy” Needs French, 61, passed away on May 12, 2026, in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Missy was born on February 25, 1965, in West Palm Beach, Florida, to Franklin and Dorothy Needs. She was a lifelong resident of the Treasure Coast and a beloved member of her community.
A graduate of Westwood High School, Class of 1983, Missy was known for her generous heart, outgoing spirit, and dedication to serving others. She was a member of Westside Church and faithfully volunteered and supported Tim Tebow’s Night to Shine. She also shared her love of dance and community involvement as a member of the Wild Roses Dance Team, where she devoted her time and talents to giving back. In addition, she was a longtime volunteer with the performance team at the St. Lucie County Fair.
Survivors include her son, Gregory Carl “CJ” (Brianna) French Jr. of Fort Pierce, Florida; grandson, Liam Carl French of Fort Pierce, Florida; brothers, Ford (Jan) Kessler of Port Townsend, Washington and John (Cindy) Kessler of Jacksonville, Florida; sister, Debi (Rick) Stutsman of Selma, North Carolina; father-in-law, Ron (Elaine) French of Fort Pierce, Florida; brother-in-law, Tommy (Casey) French of Fort Pierce, Florida; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gregory Carl French; father, Frank Needs; mother, Dorothy Borland Needs; brother, Harold Kessler; and sister, Gleeann Kessler Warren.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 5:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.
