Maureen Michel

Maureen Michel, 85, passed away on April 17, 2026, in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Mrs. Michel was born on April 14, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York, to John and Mary Downs. She later made Fort Pierce, Florida her home.

Maureen worked as an office manager for an HVAC contractor for many years. She had a vibrant personality and loved to gamble, sing, dance, and meet new people. She especially cherished spending time with her family and friends. Those who knew and loved her affectionately called her “Mogie,” “Mom,” “Gram,” and “Gigi.” One of her greatest joys was her large family, and she was very proud of her 11 great-grandchildren. Maureen also had a special love for anything that sparkled.

She is survived by her daughters, Paula (Lenord) Wersan and Janet (Michael) Favale; her son, Alfred Minafo; her grandchildren, Michael (Gabriella) Wersan, Lindsay (Scott) Falconer, Lea (Charles) Wersan, Michael (Meghan) Favale, and Chris (Victory) Favale; and her great-grandchildren, Riley, Cameron, Scott Jr., Elianna, Mikey, J., Callan, Levi, Emmy, Lyla, Adelina, and Violet.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Downs, and her sister, Patricia Walsh.
