Mary Madeline "Didi" Spagnola-Hills

March 31, 1964 — May 18, 2025

Fort Pierce

Mary Madeline “Didi” Spagnola-Hills, age 61, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, in Fort Pierce, Florida. Born on March 31, 1964, in New York, New York, Didi was the beloved daughter of the late Carlo Angelo and Margaret Mary Spagnola.

A proud and accomplished attorney, Didi was known for her deep faith, sharp intellect, and generous heart. Her life was vibrant and full—filled with color, laughter, and joy. She had a keen eye for fashion and a true passion for shopping, especially for shoes and jewelry. Didi found delight in life’s simple pleasures: crafting, boating, traveling, and spending sunny days at the beach. A devoted Florida Gators fan, her enthusiasm and radiant spirit lit up every room she entered. She was also a passionate advocate for breast cancer awareness and research.

Above all, Didi was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, great-aunt, and friend. She is survived by her cherished sons, Zachariah Thomas Hills (Grandpup Hazel) and William John Hills III; her beloved sisters, Dawn Lovejoy (Lester) and Carla Allen (Peter); her dear sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Melanie and David Kordack, who shared in many joyful family gatherings and always offered unwavering support and love. She also leaves behind her treasured nieces and nephew, Elizabeth Quinn (Joseph), Maria Blake (Matthew), Mason, Madeline, and Margaret Allen, Shannon Feeley, and Kendra Ramos (Paul); and her adored great-nieces and nephew—Millie and Maverick Blake, and Avianna Kordack—who brought her endless smiles, laughter, and pride, and whose lives will carry forward her light and love.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William John Hills, Jr.; her parents, Carlo and Margaret Spagnola; and her parents-in-law, William Sr. and Patricia Hills.

Didi will be remembered for her fierce love of family, unwavering faith, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her legacy of strength, kindness, and style lives on in all who knew and loved her. As we celebrate her life and the immeasurable impact she had on so many, we remember her in the words of one of her favorite songs: “Because I knew you, I have been changed for good.”

A service will be held at First United Methodist Church on 260 NW Prima Vista Blvd, Port St Lucie, FL on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 2:00 PM
