Fort Pierce

Mary Elizabeth (Guettler) Noelke, a lifelong resident and proud native of Fort Pierce, Florida, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on March 13, 2026, at the age of 101.

Born on October 6, 1924, in Fort Pierce, Mary was the first of the George and Christine Guettler family born in the area and remained deeply rooted in the community she loved throughout her life. Her faith was the center of everything she did. Mary loved God first, followed closely by her devotion to her church and her family.

On August 30, 1945, she married the love of her life, Leander H. Noelke. Together they built a beautiful life and family grounded in faith, love, and service to others.

Mary attended St. Anastasia Catholic School and was a lifelong member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church and its Women’s Club. Her dedication to her church extended through many years of faithful service, including her cherished work in the sacristy.

A woman of many talents and interests, Mary loved baking, sewing, painting, bird watching, decorating wedding cakes, and rosary making. She was also deeply devoted to faith formation. She once lovingly told her daughter-in-law, “It's not my job to get my children to college; it’s to get them to Heaven,” a reflection of the faith that guided her life.

Mary’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her sons, John (Linda) Noelke of Fort Pierce, FL, David (Cindy) Noelke of Fort Pierce, FL, Robert (Mary) Noelke of Fort Pierce, FL, Lawrence (Angela) Noelke of Fort Pierce, FL, and Martin (Jamie) Noelke of Fort Pierce, FL; her daughters, Mary Lee (Paul) Rifenbark of Fort Pierce, FL, Rose Marie Davis of Sebastian, FL, and Patricia Ann (Craig) Fulmer of Fort Pierce, FL; two sisters; one brother; 20 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leander H. Noelke; her grandchildren, Maryann Noelke and Matthew Noelke; and her son-in-law, Gerald Davis.

Mary will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her servant’s heart, her creativity, and the deep love she shared with her family and friends. Her life was a testament to faith, devotion, and the quiet impact of a life lived for God and others.

A visitation will take place at Haisley Funeral Home in Fort Pierce on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at 5:30 PM, followed by a prayer service at 6:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anastasia Catholic Church on Monday, March 23, 2026, at 10:00 AM, followed by burial at Riverview Memorial Park in Fort Pierce.

The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anastasia Catholic Church and School in her honor.
