Marilyn Leona Davis Holloman, 72, died April 12, 2025 in Vero Beach, Florida.
Mrs. Holloman was born on October 6, 1952 in Brooklyn, New York and resided in Vero Beach, Florida.
Prior to retirement, Marilyn was a nurse practitioner. She graduated from the University of Miami. She was a member of the Parliamentary law unit in Miami, Nurses for Christ in Miami, and Democratic Black Caucus in Miami. She enjoyed reading and shopping. She published a poem in Library of Congress, “Colorless, colorful soul”, and wrote and published “Oil for food: The Ambassador’s Daughter.”
She leaves behind her loving daughter and son-in-law, Amina Suedi Barber and Fils Barber of Sebastian, FL with her grandchildren, Marcus Suedi-Hill, Fils Barber, Jr., and Brianna Barber; brother, Anthony Sylvester Davis of Miami, FL; nephews, Eljen Davis of Houston, TX, Devon Davis of Tampa, FL, Daren Davis of Miami, FL and niece, Dionne Davis of Orlando, FL. He was preceded in death by her mother, Gwendolyn O. Crichlow and father, Leon Courbourne Davis.
Marilyn had a 501(c)3 non-profit. Women and Children 1st., Inc. was a 501(c)3 nonprofit operating out of North Miami for 5 years. The non profit shined a light on the challenges of single parenting, and published an annual legislative update. The update would inform the organization members about new legislation that would directly impact their day to day lives.
