It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Louise G. “Fifi” Lyshon, who left this world on June 1, 2025, in her home, surrounded by family and love.
Fifi was born in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin on July 18, 1953. She grew up at her family home in Dayton, Ohio, spending winter breaks with her parents in the Bahamas on their boat, the Bi-Fi. She attended the House in the Pines Preparatory School in Norton, Massachusetts before marrying G. Stevens “Steve” Lyshon on November 3, 1979. Fifi and Steve fished up and down the eastern seaboard, including Oregon Inlet, North Carolina, Bermuda, the Bahamas, St. Thomas, Virgin Gorda, and Venezuela. They enjoyed the company of many lifelong friends along the way.
A devoted wife, mother, and friend, Fifi dedicated her life to her children- always putting her family first. She was the steady hand and warm heart that held everything together- a constant presence in our lives, offering support, guidance, and unconditional love. A member of the First United Methodist Church of Fort Pierce and the Pelican Yacht Club, Fifi was an active member of her community, always ready to lend a hand to a friend in need. She was most delighted when spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
Fifi is survived by her daughter Missy (Anthony) Ashton, son William (Allyson) Lyshon, Skip (Laura) Lyshon, and Ellen Dickson; grandchildren Kennedy Ashton, Maverick Lyshon, Lane Lyshon, Megan Lyshon, Steven Lyshon, Christann Dickson, and Adam Dickson. She was predeceased by her husband, Steve Lyshon, parents, Mr. and Mrs. William E. Gardner, and brother, William E. Gardner.
Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the family she raised, and the love we will forever carry in our hearts. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at First United Methodist Church of Fort Pierce. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to Treasure Coast Hospice.
A service will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, 515 Avenue A, Fort Pierce, FL 34950.
