Louis "Louie" Manuel Pereira

Louis "Louie" Manuel Pereira, 78, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on August 6, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Louie was born on December 14, 1947, in São Miguel, Azores, Portugal, to James and Lidia Pereira. He later immigrated to the United States, where he built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. On July 5, 1969, he married the love of his life, Cidalia Pereira, in Fall River, Massachusetts. Together they shared 57 years of marriage, creating a home filled with love, devotion, and unwavering commitment.

Louie proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969, including service in South Korea. Following his military service, he earned an Associate Degree in Business from Fischer College in Fall River, Massachusetts.

Throughout his career, Louie was known for his dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic. He worked for Sheridan Taunton Silversmiths Ltd. in Taunton, Massachusetts, and Anderson Jewelry in Providence, Rhode Island, before beginning a 30-year career in restaurant management with Jan Co., Inc. (Burger King), serving locations in Warren, Rhode Island; Swansea, Massachusetts; and Fall River, Massachusetts. He retired in 2019.

Faith was the foundation of Louie's life. He was a devoted member of Grace Gospel Church in Swansea, Massachusetts, for 42 years before relocating to Florida, where he attended Sunlight Community Church in Port Saint Lucie.

Louie found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved gardening, working on projects around the house, and cheering on his favorite New England sports teams—the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins, and New England Patriots. Whether tending his garden, fixing something around the house, or enjoying a game, he approached every moment with gratitude and enthusiasm.

More than anything, Louie was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and great-grandfather. His greatest joy was his family and his faith in Jesus Christ. He lived with unwavering integrity, compassion, and humility, always striving to reflect Christ's love through his actions. Trustworthy, loyal, and dependable, Louie was someone others could always count on. He freely gave his time, offered a helping hand whenever it was needed, and put others before himself without expecting anything in return. His kindness, generosity, and quiet strength touched countless lives, leaving a legacy that will continue through all who knew and loved him.

Louie is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Cidalia Pereira of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; his son, Steven Pereira, and daughter-in-law, Debaree Pereira of Yorkville, Georgia; his daughter, Melody Skinner, and son-in-law, Robert Skinner, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; his grandchildren, Joshua Pereira, Hannah Pereira, Dennis Skinner, and Ben Skinner; and his great-grandson, Caleb Pereira.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lidia Pereira, and his brothers, Joey Pereira and Carlos Pereira.

Louie supported causes that were close to his heart, including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, and Wounded Warrior Project organizations.

His family finds comfort in knowing that his legacy of faith, love, kindness, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. Though he will be deeply missed, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Louie's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

A Visitation will be held at Haisley Tribute Center, 2041 SW Bayshore Blvd., Port St. Lucie, Florida 34984, on August 11, 2026, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm with a Service to follow immediately after at 4:00 pm. Burial will take place on August 12, 2026, at 1:00 pm at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, Florida, 33449.
