Linda Kay Mays

Linda Kay Mays, 68, died April 16, 2026, in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Mrs. Mays was born on February 14, 1958, to Dewey M. and Millie A. Cole in Richlands, Virginia. She attended Garden High School in Buchanan County and later made her home in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Linda loved the ocean and had a special place in her heart for her cats, but above all she cherished her husband and son. She will be remembered for her love of family and the joy she found in the simple things in life.

Survivors include her husband, Steve Mays of Fort Pierce, Florida; her son, Ryan Chad Cole of Florida; brothers, Ray Cole and Gary Cole of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Roger Cole of Ringgold, Georgia; niece, Kim Whitt of Tazewell, Virginia; nephew, Joe Elswick of Dickenson County, Virginia; niece, Heather Dinkins of Ringgold, Georgia; niece, Amanda Brack of Port St. Lucie, Florida; nephew, Marshall Cole of Port St. Lucie, Florida; and several additional great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey M. Cole and Millie A. Cole, and her sisters, Wanda Sue Owens and Bonnie Gail Cole.
