Leslie "Joseph" Guillot, Jr.

September 20, 1960 — December 1, 2023

Okeechobee

Leslie “Joseph” Guillot, 63, passed away on Friday, December 1 at Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce, Florida. Joe grew up in Mobile, Alabama, spending his early years, near family in New Orleans, Louisiana. He aspired to pitch for the University of Alabama, however, was sidelined with an injury before realizing that dream. He moved to Florida and continued his education, where he later was able to pursue his passion for ranching. Joe worked for the Oil and Gas industry in the Tampa area which led to his career in equipment services. He built strong relationships in the equipment industry, spending 23 years with Ritchie Brother Auctioneers and then Alta Equipment. Joe was most proud of his recent role with Jeff Martin Auctioneers, leading the Southern Region.

Joe was a dedicated uncle, friend, and colleague to so many.  He is preceded in death by his sisters, Gail Lobue and Renee Guillot and his brother, Wayne Guillot. He is survived by his cousins, Qunitin Neil Barrington (Darlene) and Allan Lowry Barrington (Janna). His nieces Lyndsey Adams, Sheila Anderson (Neil), and Angie Fenwick (Scott) and his nephews Michael (Laurie) and Donnie Lobue (Robin) will miss him dearly.

He was a true cowboy, caring and providing for the animals on his ranch in Lake Okeechobee. Joe was an avid Saints football fan and Alabama baseball fan. Forever in our hearts, Joe will stay the loved and respected man that he proudly strived to be treating everyone with kindness and an abundance of generosity.

Services have been graciously arranged by Jeff Martin Auctioneers at Haisley Funeral Home in Fort Pierce on Friday, December 15. A visitation reception will be held from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at 6:00 pm. His final resting place will be with his parents, Leslie Joseph “Flambo” and Quida Barrington Guillot at Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile, Alabama.

Donations to honor his legacy can be made to the future leaders in Agriculture at Hope Rural School, 15929 SW 150th Street, Indiantown, FL 34956.
