Katherine Kotis, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, at the age of 87. She was born on January 18, 1938, in Tarpon Springs, Florida, to the late Steve and Kaliope Kotis.
Katherine devoted her life to the care and service of others. She attended Barry University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and went on to dedicate many years of compassionate service at Jackson Memorial Hospital before her retirement.
She was deeply proud of her Greek heritage, embracing her family’s traditions and values throughout her life. Katherine was also known for her love of animals, especially cats, who brought her much joy and companionship.
Katherine is survived by her sister, Evelyn Terezakis of Fort Pierce, Florida; niece, Carol (Donnie) Coker of Landrum, South Carolina; nephews, Tom (Lisa) Terezakis of Fort Pierce, Florida, Andrew (Christine) Terezakis of Palm City, Florida, Evan Chaggaris of Boston, Massachusetts, and Steve (Jennifer) Chaggaris of Washington, D.C. She will be lovingly remembered by her many great-nieces and nephews—Katie (Beau) Slay, Kari Terezakis, Michael Terezakis, Alex (Kelly) Coker, Nic (Rina) Coker, Evie Terezakis, Steven Terezakis, Alexa Terezakis, and Peter Chaggaris—as well as her great-great-nieces and nephews, Brennan Slay, Jaydn Slay, Caroline Coker, Theodore Coker, Sophia Coker and Addison Coker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Kaliope Kotis, and her sister, Irene Chaggaris, all of Tarpon Springs, Florida.
May her memory be eternal in the hearts of all that knew her.
A service will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery.
