Born to Julio Benabe and Juanita Cruz, Juanita lived a life full of strength, resilience, and grace. She married in Puerto Rico, where she began to build a family rooted in love and care.
Juanita’s dedication to learning and personal growth led her to attend MIT for nine years—a testament to her unyielding thirst for knowledge and her independent spirit. She embraced a lifelong passion for embroidery and sewing, dedicating much of her time to the Ladies Garment Workers Union as a proud seamstress. She also cultivated a deep love for gardening, nurturing her plants with the same care she showed her family.
A devout Christian, Juanita was well-versed in the Bible and lived her faith with quiet strength and unwavering conviction. She was known for her stoic nature, quick wit, and sense of humor, which brought light to those around her.
Juanita was predeceased by her beloved son, Tito Corsino. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Irma (Jon) Rose of New York, three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her legacy of love, resilience, and laughter.
Her independent spirit, unwavering strength, and vibrant sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
