Joseph M. Hornby, 74, died May 6, 2026 in Fort Pierce, Florida with family by his side.
Mr. Hornby was born on May 24, 1951 to Maynard & Catherine Hornby in Oneida, New York.
Joe was in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and resided in Hamilton Square, New Jersey. After discharge, he worked for the Postal Service for 38 years.
After retirement, Joe & his wife, Catherine moved to Fort Pierce and he was a member of the American Legion Post 40 and the Elks Lodge 1520. He was an avid bowler whereby he earned many awards and achievements, including The Mercer County Bowler’s Association Hall of Fame.
Other hobbies were golf and playing cards at the Card House, most of all loved riding his motorcycle and enjoying his family.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine of Fort Pierce, FL; loving dog, Roxy; daughter, Megan (Bob) Smith of Riverview, FL; 3 step-children, Jerry Kistler of Sun City Center, Danielle (Bill) Palladino of Fort Pierce, FL, Michael (Nicole) Kistler of Glendora, NJ and 4 grandchildren, Jaxon, Jaryd, Scarlet, and Alexia Kistler; sister, Lynn (Pete) of Vero Beach, FL; brothers, John of Fort Pierce, Steven of Vero Beach and Pete (Bev) of New Smyrna; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maynard & Catherine Hornby and sister, Diane Vadney.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 5000 Dunn Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981 or to the American Legion Post 40, 810 South US 1, Fort Pierce, FL 34950.
