John Steven Black, 63, died on June 23, 2013 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Black was a lifelong resident of Fort Pierce, Florida
He graduated from Dan McCarty High School in 1968. He worked as a mechanic at Rivergold Citrus for 28 years. He was in the U.S. Army and earned a Purple Heart & Bronze Star. He enjoyed fishing , hunting, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include daughter, Jennifer Smith of Fort Pierce, Florida; son, Brian Smith of Port St Lucie, Florida; brothers, Wayne Black of Brooksville, Florida, Robert Black of Fort Pierce, Florida; sisters, Janice Hazellief of Okeechobee, Florida, Connie Davidson of North Augusta, South Carolina, Rebecca Carter of Cullman, Alabama, Mona Davis of Fort Pierce, Florida; grandchildren, Brian Bradley Smith, & John Lee Smith; granddaughter, Shannon Slick and great-granddaughter, Trinity Slick.

Services: A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 5 PM at Haisley Funeral Home Chapel. A reception will follow at the Haisley Reception Center.
