Obituary

Jean Guy Gagnon, 88, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026, in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Born on February 18, 1938, in St. Foy, Quebec, Canada, Jean was the son of Andre Gagnon and Genevieve Roy. He made Fort Pierce his home in 1956, where he built a life defined by hard work, generosity, and a deep commitment to his community.

Jean was a licensed electrical and building contractor beginning in 1968 and earned the respect of countless friends, neighbors, and clients throughout his career. He was an active member of the Fort Pierce Jaycees for many years, the V.M.C.C.A. Antique Automobile Club, and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also an avid golfer and enthusiastic traveler.

Known for his willingness to lend a helping hand, Jean was deeply connected within the Fort Pierce community. Whether repairing something for a friend, offering advice, or volunteering his time, he was always there when someone needed him. Family and friends often joked that he could fix anything—and with the impressive collection of tools he kept, he usually could.

Jean is survived by his daughters, Joanne (Jay) Bauer of Woodbury, Connecticut, and Tammy (Albert) Scoggins of Fort Pierce, Florida; his sisters, Pier Clark of Fort Pierce, Florida, Teresa Corbould of British Columbia, and Louise Gauthier of Montreal; his brothers, Jack Gagnon of Montreal and Marc Gagnon of Quebec, Canada; his grandchildren, Jay Bauer, Jordan Bauer, and A.J. Crocco; and his great-granddaughter, Hailey Bauer.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Gagnon; his brother, Francois Gagnon; and his sisters, Francoise Gagnon and Andree Bass.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 4:00 p.m. at Haisley Funeral Home in Fort Pierce.
