James Colin Stottlemire

James Colin Stottlemire, 82, passed away on December 22, 2025, in Vero Beach, Florida.

Mr. Stottlemire was born on December 12, 1943, in Richmond, Indiana, to Howard and Callie Stottlemire. He spent many years in New Carlisle, Ohio, before relocating to Vero Beach, Florida in 2000, which he proudly called home for the remainder of his life.

James retired from General Motors after 30 years of dedicated service. Earlier in his career, he also served briefly with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and was a proud Veteran of the United States Army.

In his leisure time, he loved playing golf and was an active member of the Vero Bridge Club, where he enjoyed many competitive and friendly games of bridge. Above all, James cherished time spent with his family and friends. He was well known for his wonderful sense of humor, quick wit, and warm personality, which brought joy to those around him.

Survivors include his son, Russell (Jennifer) Stottlemire of Port St. Lucie, Florida; daughter, Cheryl Stottlemire of Vero Beach, Florida; sisters, Sharon Harris of Keystone Heights, Florida, and Charlotte Roudebush of Vero Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Callie (Peirce) Adams, Chase (Carlie Flanagan) Stottlemire, and Connor Stottlemire; and his special friend, Carolyn Hodges.

James was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vicki Stottlemire.
