James Levon Sparks

November 5, 1944 — October 20, 2025

Fort Pierce

James Levon Sparks, 80, of Muses Mills, Kentucky, entered his eternal rest on October 20, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on November 5, 1944, James was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather & great-grandfather, and faithful servant of God. He will be remembered for his unwavering faith in God, love and service for others, resilient strength, and deep devotion to his family and faith.

James loved all sports, especially The Masters and his Kentucky Wildcats. He was a great golfer who got to play on many beautiful courses. He enjoyed finding antiques at yard sales and auctions. His sales skills were top notch with the ability to sell ice to an eskimo!

After James gave his life to Christ at age 34, he spent the next 46 years sharing the Gospel with family, friends, and strangers. He started a bus ministry and widow ministry to serve and love others. He went to people’s houses to tell them about the gift of salvation, because someone came to his home to share the Good News of Christ with him!

James is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Lou; his children, Randy (Carla), Sandy (Chris), Brandy, and Andy (Leslie); eight cherished grandchildren, Justin (Elizabeth), Jessica (Zack), Starr (Kenny), Storm, Sage, Haley, Jackson, and Bryce; five great-grandchildren, Skyelan, Kenny, Riley, Lochlan, and Baby Sparks due 12/31/2025; and two brothers, Alfred, Jr. and Michael.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred, Sr. And Mayme, two brothers, Philip and Franklin, and eight sisters, Jewel, Bonnie, Janet, Brenda Rachel, Linda, Lorene, Shirley, and Edith.

James’ life was a testament to hard work, humility, resilience, and faith. His family takes comfort in knowing that he has heard the words he lived to one day hear:

“Well done, my good and faithful servant.” – God
