James Kennedy Langel

November 25, 1963 — May 8, 2023

Fort Pierce

James Kennedy Langel, 59, of Fort Pierce, FL passed away on May 8, 2023, surrounded by those he loved most in this world.

Jamie was born November 25, 1963, to Robert and Lillian (Vachon) Langel and was a lifetime resident of Fort Pierce, FL.  On June 24, 1982, he married Carla Sue Hodges and their daughter Jessica followed shortly after.  They became a family at a very young age and recently celebrated their 40th anniversary.

Jamie worked for the City of Fort Pierce for many years but spent most of his career as an Arborist.  He opened Budget Tree Company alongside his brother Jeff and served Saint Lucie County for over 30 years.  He worked tirelessly to provide a good life for his family.  Jamie was a lover of life and, more importantly, his family.  He was a devoted husband and father, proud Grampy to his granddaughter Hailey, Poppy to his dog Winston, and an incredible friend and neighbor. Most likely, when you saw Jamie, his head was covered with a cap and his face was covered with a smile.  Jamie was the type of person that would give you the shirt off his back and never met a stranger.  The world is truly a better place because he was in it.  Jamie loved kids and dogs, camping in his motorhome at Fort Wilderness, NASCAR, cruising, going to the Keys, and weekends spent by his pool with family and friends.

After a courageous battle with non-small-cell lung cancer, Jamie left this earth to meet his Heavenly Father surrounded by his loving family and friends.  Jamie had a big, loving heart, beautiful smile, great sense of humor and piercing blue eyes.  He will remain in our hearts and memories forever.

Jamie is survived by his loving wife, Carla Langel; daughter, Jessica (Michael) Rankin; granddaughter, Hailey Rankin; mother, Lillian Robustelli; sister, Theresa Langel (Steve Nogay); brother,Jeffrey Langel; sister-in-law, Karen Bodden, brother-in-law, Allen (Susan) Hodges; numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, who he loved very much.  He was predeceased by his father, Robert Langel, and brother, Bobby Langel.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 2:30-3:30 PM with a service at 3:30 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.  Burial will follow at White City Cemetery.
