James M. Johnson, Jr.

James M. Johnson, Jr., 71, passed away on February 12, 2026, in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Mr. Johnson was born on July 23, 1954, in Texas and made his home in Fort Pierce, Florida. He graduated from LaPorte High School in LaPorte, Indiana, and proudly served his country as a Veteran of the United States Army with the 173rd Airborne, serving in Vietnam.

Prior to retirement, Mr. Johnson worked at Turner Machine. He was a member of the VFW in Fort Pierce and St. Mark’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s baseball and softball games and was an avid fan of Notre Dame, the Indiana Hoosiers, and the Indianapolis Colts. He also loved playing shuffleboard with his many friends at the VFW.

Survivors include his sons, Cory (Jennifer) Johnson and Mike Johnson, both of Fort Pierce, Florida; grandchildren, Danielle (Ashley) McIntosh of Laporte, IN and Lexie and Patrick Johnson of Fort Pierce, Florida. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cora Cox; father, James Johnson, Sr.; and wife, Theresa Johnson.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home in Fort Pierce.
