James A. Rice Jr., lovingly known as Jimmy, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, in Port St. Lucie, Florida, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 62 years old.
Jimmy was born on February 12, 1964, in Mount Kisco, New York, to James A. Rice Sr. and Irene Trond Rice. He spent his childhood and formative years in New York, where he attended local schools and developed a lifelong love of the outdoors.
An avid sportsman, Jimmy enjoyed fishing, ice fishing, and hunting during his years in New York. He found great joy in nature and treasured the time spent outdoors with family and friends. Later in life, he made his home in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Jimmy is survived by his loving mother, Irene Torreggiani of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and his sister, Dawn Renouf of Golden, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Rice Sr.
Jimmy will be remembered for his strength, resilience, and the love he shared with those who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Following the Mass, Jimmy will be laid to rest at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley, New York.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or that a tree be planted in Jimmy's memory.
