James "Jimmie" F Herndon, III

James F. “Jimmie” Herndon III, 69, of Ft. Pierce, FL passed away peacefully on March 30, 2024.

Jimmie was born on February 8, 1955 in Miami, FL to James Jr and Joann (Henry) Herndon. He married the love of his life Patricia Smith on May 25th, 1979.

He was the owner and operator of both Sunshine Builders and Sunshine Car Wash in Ft. Pierce, FL. 

Jimmie loved the outdoors. He was always outside, hunting, fishing, air boating or farming. 

He is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia; daughters, Stephanie Avery of Ft White Fl and JoAnn Sterns and husband, Phill of Jensen beach; sons, James IV of Ft. Pierce and Jeremy Herndon and wife, Kristi of Port St. Lucie. He will be remembered with love by his grandchildren, Calista and Caleigh Avery and Alex Benavidez. He is also survived by his first great-grandchild, Kaisleigh. His mother, JoAnn Herndon; brother Joseph and wife, Penny and  sister, Jennilynn Herndon Smith and husband Steve as well as many nieces and nephews will miss Jimmie greatly.
He was predeceased by his father, James F Jr; sister June; grandparents, Thelma and Archie Coleman and Hazel and James F Herndon Sr.  

A vistation will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 11AM to 12PM with a service to begin at 12PM at Spirit Life Church 700 S. 33rd Street Ft. Pierce, FL 34947.
