Isom J.L. Davis, 87, of Fort Pierce, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, including his devoted wife of 66 ½ years, Billie Jean Davis.

Born on September 28, 1937, in Columbia, Missouri, to Clay Troxell and Gertrude Davis, Isom was a man of strong faith, deep love for his family, and a life defined by service. He proudly served in the United States Navy aboard several vessels, including the USS Tench Submarine, and carried that same spirit of duty and discipline into every aspect of his life.

Isom was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife, Billie Jean Davis; son, Jeffrey (Diane) Davis; grandson, Clay A. Davis and great-granddaughter, Brooke Davis; grandson, Blake A. (Danica) Davis and great-grandsons, Walker and Granger Davis; daughter, Lynnette (Michael) Howard; grandson, Brandon M. Howard; grandson, Tyler R. Howard; granddaughter, Nicole C. (Jonathan) Sousa; sisters, MarjoryAnn Davis and Mary Jane Hoff; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Clay and Gertrude Davis, and brothers, Clay Troxell Davis Jr. and John Paul Davis.

A longtime member of White City United Methodist Church, Isom lived a life grounded in faith, fellowship, and family. His passions included tennis, paddleball, racquetball, scuba diving, spearfishing, fishing, camping, playing cards, and spending time at church.

A celebration of Isom’s life will be held on July 14, 2025. Military honors and a short service will be rendered at 10:00 AM at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 PM at White City United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a cause close to Isom’s generous heart.
