Irvie Frances Saunders, 74, passed away on September 30, 2022 in Vero Beach, Florida.

Mrs. Saunders was born in Lakeland, Florida and moved to Fort Pierce in 1977 coming from Mississippi.

Irvie worked for the St. Lucie County Planning and Zoning Department for over 25 years. She enjoyed taking road trips and playing bingo. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they affectionately called her “Grams”. She was her children and grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader when it came to watching their sporting events. Irvie was a preacher’s daughter and was always a true Southern Baptist.

Survivors include her daughter, Penni (Andy) Guettler of Fort Pierce, FL; son, Mark Saunders of Vero Beach, FL; brother, Ronald D. (Karlene) English of Vancleave, MS; sister, Patricia (Jimmy) Hiers of Vancleave, MS; grandchildren, Kalib (Kaitlyn) Guettler, Kassidy Guettler, and Sophia Galbraith; great-grandchildren, Clayton and Brinley Guettler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Williams Saunders and brothers, Jerry and Lloyd Joe English.

Services: A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 11:00 AM at White City Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 from 3-6 PM at Jaycee Park in Vero Beach, FL.
