Harold Peter Austgen, Jr.
Pete Austgen, Jr, 81, passed away on June 18, 2023 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.
Pete was born in Hammond, Indiana on April 1, 1942 to Harold P. and Sylvia Austgen. He moved to Ft. Pierce 70 years ago from Indiana. He lived many years in Palm Beach, raising his devoted children with his former wife, Gloria Brown before he moved back to Fort Pierce in his mid 40’s.
Pete was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and became a master carpenter. He enjoyed buying land to build homes and investing in properties. In his free time, he loved boating, fishing, and spending time with his family. He valued his children and grandchildren; he couldn’t have been a better father and grandfather. He was truly a genuine, amazing, funny, and happy man. Everyone always went to him for help because they knew they could always depend on him. Pete was listed in the book “Legendary Locals of Fort Pierce” as the Mayor of South Beach, he was a “true legend”.
Survivors include his devoted companion, Linda Hayes of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughters, Tiffany (Thomas) Austgen Martin and Shelley (Lakin) Austgen Flowers both of Jupiter, FL; sisters, Peggy (Fred) Kendall and Mary (Robin) Roberts both of Ft. Pierce, FL; brother, Robert Austgen of Gainesville, FL; stepbrother, Randy Noble of Ft. Pierce, FL; grandchildren, Trent Mayer, Chanelle Donato, Joseph Peter Martin, Jenneá Flowers, Sarah Flowers-Barcan, Connor Flowers, Tommy Martin, and Lauren Martin; great-grandchildren, Leo & Bode Donato and Basil & Lucia Barcan. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Nick, John, Tommy, and Billy Austgen.

Services: Gathering will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 11:00 am-12:00 pm with a memorial service to follow at 12:00 pm at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. An online guest book may be signed at www.haisleyfuneralhome.com
