George William Biggles
George William Biggles, 79, of Fort Pierce, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2026. He was born on January 13, 1947, in Valdosta, Georgia, to Margaret G. Biggles and WK Biggles.
George was a proud veteran who dedicated much of his life to serving others. After graduating from Dan McCarty High School, he enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 18 in 1965. He proudly served for three years, including combat service in Vietnam. Throughout his life, George continued his commitment to service, serving in the Army National Guard, National Guard and the United States Coast Guard. He received four honorable discharges in recognition of his dedicated military service.
Following his military service, George began a distinguished career with the Florida Highway Patrol. He served as a Florida Highway Patrolman for more than 30 years, dedicating his career to protecting and serving the people of Florida. He was also a professional scuba diver, a passion that allowed him to combine his love of the water with his adventurous spirit.
George lived life with a sense of adventure and a love for the outdoors. He had a particular passion for parasailing and scuba diving and had a deep love for animals. He cherished the friendships he formed throughout his life, including those with Billy O’Dell, Jan Seften, and legendary singer Johnny Cash.
George will be deeply missed by his daughter, Sherry Lynn Castillero of Randleman, North Carolina; his son, Gregory Scott Biggles of High Point, North Carolina; his many grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many first cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret G. Biggles and WK Biggles.
George leaves behind a legacy of service, courage, adventure, and friendship. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
