Obituary

Genoveva Gonzalez, 91, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026, in Vero Beach, Florida.

Mrs. Gonzalez was born on August 3, 1935, in San Jose, Mexico. In 1978, she moved to Florida from Texas, where she made her home and devoted her life to her family.

Genoveva was a woman of extraordinary sweetness and grace. She had a calm and gentle spirit and was known for never raising her voice. Her quiet presence, kind heart, and unconditional love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was a devoted Catholic and cherished her family above all else, especially her grandchildren.

Genoveva found joy in the simple things in life. She loved caring for her beautiful plants and flowers, watching her favorite telenovelas, and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys. She enjoyed humming and singing along to her beloved Mexican music, filling her home with the songs she loved. Her gentle spirit and loving nature made her, in every sense, the walking definition of love. To her family, she was a true angel whose love will continue to live on in their hearts.

Genoveva was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gustavo Gonzalez Garza, and her son, Onesimo Gonzalez.

She is survived by her children, Cruz Gonzalez, Gustavo Gonzalez, Amabilia Gonzalez, Maria Gonzalez, Guadalupe Gonzalez, Yolanda Wilson, Alejandro Gonzalez, Angelica Gonzalez, and Patricia Gonzalez; brothers, Reyes Salinas and Beto Salinas; sisters, Maria Gonzalez and Brigida Castillo; 35 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026 from 10:00 am- 11:00 am with a service to follow at 11:00 am at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.
