Our father Gary Soubel didn’t believe in doing things halfway. If a job was worth doing, it was worth doing right the first time. He was 79 years old when he passed away on January 15, 2026, in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
He grew up in Southgate, Michigan, and he carried that Midwestern work ethic with him his whole life. He served his country in the United States Army and after his service, he was a provider. There were times he worked three jobs at once to make sure his family had everything they needed.
He was a strong, blunt man who told you exactly what he thought. He didn't bite his tongue for anyone.
He was devoted to his wife, Bonnie Soubel. They were married for 49 years. He loved her deeply and often told us he simply could not survive without our mother.
He lived for his children, Tiffany Soubel and Gary Soubel II. But if there was anyone he loved to spoil, it was his grandkids: Anthony Brunetto, Alyssa Brunetto, and Elijah Taylor. Gary loved his model trains. He looked forward to the days he could sit down and build those tracks with his grandchildren.
He was a huge panther fan and enjoyed watching the games with his son Gary II. If he wasn't watching a hockey game, he would watch a Western. He loved his westerns especially if it was a John Wayne movie.
Our father was a fighter. He worked hard and he battled hard to stay with his family until the Lord called him home.
He was preceded in death by Robert Soubel and Lorraine Soubel/Bruce. He is survived by his wife Bonnie, his children, his three grandchildren and his sister Gaye.
