Obituary

Gary Lee Price, 86, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and compassion. Gary spent his early years in Salem, Indiana, before moving to Fort Pierce, Florida, in 1972, where he built a life centered on family, friendships, and his faith.

He proudly served in the Air Force Reserve and carried that spirit of dedication and service throughout his life. He worked for many years in the auto body repair industry, where he was known for his craftsmanship, strong work ethic, and pride in doing every job to the best of his ability.

Gary loved the outdoors and enjoyed competition skeet/rifle shooting, hunting, camping, and boating. Whether on the water, at the campground, or on the range, he treasured time spent with family and friends.

Above all, Gary was a man of deep and abiding faith. He was a devoted member of Midway Road Church of Christ, where he cherished his church family and faithfully attended worship services and Bible study. His relationship with the Lord guided the way he lived and the way he treated others.

Gary was known for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, always finding a way to make those around him smile. He had a generous heart and quietly looked for opportunities to help others, especially the homeless in his community. His kindness, compassion, and willingness to lend a helping hand reflected the Christian life he sought to live each day.

Gary was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Jean Thompson Price; his cherished daughter, Shawna Price Calhoun; and his brother, Shawn Price.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Lisa Price Bolton; his son, Eric Price and his wife, Christy; his sister, Yvonne Price Sease; his grandchildren, Danielle Steele (Chris), Dane Vachon (Sarah), Christopher Price, Britney Price, and Travis Calhoun; and his great-grandchildren, Hannah Steele, Mallory Steele, Walker Steele, Cannon Vachon, Sunny Vachon, Finn Vachon, and Makenzie Calhoun. He also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, and his treasured church family, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Though his family grieves his passing, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life and find comfort in knowing he is reunited with his beloved wife, Jean, and his daughter, Shawna, in the presence of his Savior. Gary’s life was a testament to faith, humility, generosity, and unconditional love. His laughter, his servant’s heart, and the countless lives he touched will never be forgotten. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.

The family invites you to a Celebration of Life to be held at the Midway Road Church of Christ, 3040 West Midway Road, Fort Pierce, Florida, on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Fellowship and food will be shared.
