Gaetano Monaco, 85, of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family April 16, 2024.

Gaetano, affectionately known as Nonno Tom, was born in Italy on June 17, 1938. He married the love of his life, Maria, on July 25, 1963. He and Maria moved to Port St. Lucie in 2001 coming from Brooklyn, NY. In New York he owned a neighborhood barber shop and worked for the New York City Transit Authority.

Gaetano loved listening to Italian Music and other music legends such as Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. He was frequently found lovingly tending to his gardens.

Gaetano is survived by his beloved children; sons, Joseph (Jamie) Monaco of  Delray Beach, FL., Anthony (Yvette) Monaco of Marlboro, NJ; daughter, Virginia (Vito) Piscazzi of Port St. Lucie, FL and grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas, Vito, Olivia, Sasha and Jason. He will be dearly missed by his sister,  Fortuna Coppola of Brooklyn NY.  Gaetano was predeceased by his loving wife of 56 years, Maria.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church, 350 NW California Blvd., Port St. Lucie, FL. with an Entombment to follow at Rolling Oaks Cemetery.
